oir of our school days. Whenever we wish to recall the faces of our former school chums, or whenever we yearn for our teenage fun, we shall look at this album and relive these happy days. While the purpose of our school life has been for studies, we will never think of school without thinking of all the fun we had and all the friends we made. The parties, the class play, the clubs, the organizations, the North athletic games—all recreational activities are what made school a pleasure, especially in our Senior year. Because of the war, this album is not so elaborate as we wanted it to be; but it will serve our purpose very nicely. Not long after graduation, many of our class, both boys and girls, will be in the service. This book will serve as a gallery of pictures of all of the members of our class whether they are serving on the home front or in our country’s armed forces, fighting to keep our liberty and our freedoms.

When again we come together, either at our alumni banquet or in these very halls, the war will be over. Our youthful hopes for democracy may then be carried out in the calmness of peace. As we arc graduating from North, you are sailing on the high seas, fighting your way through jungles or winging your way to victory.
