The Senior Class Prom was held at the Columbia Chalet on June 2, 1944. The dance started at nine with Bob Hewitt’s orchestra playing the current hit tunc, “This Is a Lovely Way to Spend an Evening. The girls in their formats and the boys in their best suits gave the Chalet a look of charm and festivity. Refreshments were served at tables in the basement. The Grand March was led by Wayne Norby, the class president, the other class officers, and the Prom Committee, composed of Co-Chairman Mary Riviere and Fred Hey with Joanne Larpcntcur, Gloria Peterson and Dclroy Pursch serving as the committee. Whew! Stuffed with good victuals we all departed happily from our Senior Banquet held May 24, 1944. Yes! Our Senior Banquet was over; the highlight of our senior year was done, but in our memories will live the clever presentation of our theme, “Time was. Time is. Time shall be.1' Helping make our banquet a success were the pleasant surroundings of the Leamington Hotel dining room. With the last notes of our class song, our evening came to a triumphant close. Our banquet was a success thanks to faculty advisors Miss Nygaard and Miss Haveson, and Co-Chairmen. Jean Skonseng and Richard Zellmer. 21
