Martin Science Nature Although it took the science club quite a while to get organized this year, they are now endeavoring by demonstrations and talks to create a deeper and better understanding of science. Nature club is composed of both girl and boy botany students. Their activities include parties, lecturers, and movies which pertain to nature. 25

Szurz Aviation Club This club is open to all boys and girls interested in aviation and model airplane building. They were able, recently. to finish the full-size glider they have been working on. They are also helping in national defense by building model airplanes which can be used by the government for experiments. The officers arc the following: President-treasurer, Kenneth I lornibrook; vice president-secretary, Harry Brenner. Auto Safety The auto safety club was organized for the purpose of teaching high school drivers the fundamentals of better driving. Demonstrations were given to explain the importance of having the car in perfect mechanical condition. The club failed to hold many meetings this year; for this reason, Mr. Reinhart, the club adviser, declared that the club would be discontinued next semester. 24

The name La Tertulia” means social gathering.” The meetings arc held the last Tuesday of every month. At these meetings they have Spanish plays and games. Miss Apel is the club adviser. It is the aim of the Spanish Club to bring to its members a better understanding of the Spanish speaking countries. French Club The name of the French club is Jeanne D'Arc. Students must have a ”C average in French to belong to the club. The meetings are conducted partly in French. The officers for this club arc: President, William Robins; vice-president, Shirley Wilebsky; secretary-treasurer, Eileen Patnode; sergeant-at-arms, Ethel Yarosh. 26
