Row 2: Brenda Blair, Sgt. at Armsg Steve Hoover, Sgt. at Arms, Linda Sheppard, Treas. We entered North High, as sophomores, some- what ignorant of the coming three years. Now we are the mighty Seniors, the same Seniors who dreamed of a diploma. We have counted the days until graduation and moaned and groaned about the homework and the exams. But the unattractive activities, such as study- ing, didn't occupy all of our time. The football games enabled us to release the tension that built up throughout the week. The traditional Booster Drive appeared early in October, and as in the previous two years, we collected funds to support our school. The first big social event, Homecoming, came to North, and Caroline Chow was crowned queen. Even though it rained and we lost the game, Homecoming was as great as ever. With the arrival of our new auditorium seats came the Fall Play, The Little Foxes. Basketball season came and we watched our Polar Bears take the season opener from Teays Valley, 74-72. A league game loss to Whetstone, 67-66, was avenged when we played Whetstone again in the North End Tournament, won the game, and thus proved North's superiority over that school up the river. Before 28 Christmas vacation, the Hi-Y and Y-Teens sponsored dance, Orginc, was held. This year's theme was Ski Lodge. The new year brought mid-year exams and the Belle and Beau Prom. We danced in an Hawaiian Sunset and watched Dean Barr being crowned our 1968 Beau. Perhaps the most unexpected event of the year was the Senior Tiddlywinks Tournament. Most of us reacted with Are you crazy? but we all had fun watching those who were talented or just plain lucky. The Senior Play, a comedy, You Can't Take it With You, was presented in March. The last dance, Memory Lane, came on May 10. That next week, our own Senior Day arrived, Senior Olympics I ! I That was the beginning of the end of our days at North. The Senior Supper came soon after and then Baccalaureate. On June 4, at commencement, we got our final glimpse of North High. Leaving the ivy and the maroon and gold behind us, We've entered into a new door, the open door to the world of opportunity. But we never really leave North, for we have our memories to cherish forever.
