Counselors Helen Bumen Anna Lentz The counselors of North High School help prepare the sopho- mores, juniors, and seniors for the World outside of North. They prepare the Aptitude Test, PSAT Test, National Merit Scholarship Test, California Language Test and the Henmon-Nelson Mental Ability Test. These counselors also help students with schedule problems and advise them on what courses to take. ' if 1 1 ml For seventeen years Milton Byerly has been a part of North High School. He has left indelible impressions on thousands of students and scores of faculty. To each he has been a special person, transforming his office by objects of beauty, exemplifying at all times the gracious gentleman, spicing his conversation with glints of humor, and enriching his counseling with keen discernment. All who worked with him will for- ever remember the vitality and gaiety of spirit that he brought to his work, the kindly deeds for which he always found time, the ready smile, and expressive eyes. His loyal interest, his perspective vision for the tomorrow of each per- son's life, his desire to make North High School a home with deep roots have distinguished him as a sincere teacher and a true friend. 13

Attendance-Finance-Activities Raymond Budd Mr. Budd's responsibilities are keeping records of each student at North. This includes attendance, tardiness, truancy and maintaining a record of books. He is in charge of attendance and the bookroom and assisted by the book- room boys and the 995104 staff. Meta Greg Miss Gregg is the co-ordinator of student activities. Throughout the year she is in charge of the public address system, teaches a class in radio-speech, and assists the Social and Recreational Council. Miss Gregg also spends her time advising the many senior activities. Caroll Woodruff Mr. Woodruff, school treasurer, is assisted by the 445103 staff for jobs such as financial advisor for senior class, keeping money for the school's clubs, selling tickets to the games and scheduling athletic events. Mr. Woodruff also has the responsibility of making all the arrangements for our athletic games. He also teaches advanced bookkeeping. 1 2

Janet Cope Typing, Shorthand New Teachers Beverly Biggers Diane Bisdorf Office Pfactlcey Typing English, Journalism Miss Ainsworth is from Columbus. She attended Ohio State University where she received a B.S. degree in Educa- tion. She was in all of the education associations there. Her hobbies are reading, painting, cooking and sewing. Mrs. Biggers is a native of Columbus. She taught for one year at Springfield South High School. She was graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in education and enjoys all sports. Mrs. Bisdorf, who likes reading and playing billiards, is a native of Marion, Ohio. She is a graduate of Ohio State University where she received a B.S. degree in education. She was a reporter for the campus newspaper The Lantern, and also a member of Judicial Board for Women's Govern- ment Association. Mrs. Bisdorf is the advisor for both the Polaris and Memory Book. Miss Clayton came to North after teaching for twelve years at Clinton Junior High. She was graduated from Ohio State with a M.A. degree in education. Miss Clayton is from Alexandria, Ohio. Mrs. Cope is originally from near Beaver Falls, Penn- sylvania. She attended Youngstown University and is a graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, where she received a B.S. degree in business education. She enjoys tennis, reading and cooking. Mrs. Cope taught in Beaver Falls and at Linmoor Junior High before coming to North. 14
