CLASS POEM By KAREN RITTINGER Approaching footsteps mock the silence Of an undiscovered realm. Scattered beams of light penetrate shaded passages, While a dark mist hovers over the secretive realm Like a shadow hiding the moist earth. Hopeful, bold, and ambitious, the rhythmic footsteps near Like a symphony before its climax. The veiling mist slowly fades As the Class of 1958 meets the undiscovered realm- The future. Page Eighteen MEMORIES OF NORTH By PATRICIA SMiTH Though we grow older, our dreams do not cease. Until they are real, we shall know no peace. When we attain them depends on our powers, All future decisions are truly ours. Whatever we do, whatever we try, We shall fondly remember our own North High. Each one will have memories, personal and dear. Memories of North through the years will bring To us in gray moods. Thus we must try Our best to be worthy of representing North High. cheer DESTINATION By JUDY SPIEGEL Life is a desert. Dreams are defying mirages cast upon its face. Future lies ahead. Look back upon your past but move you not back, You must o'er leap the shadows, for they are merely so Look ahead! Future is the torch burning just beyond your reach. You will not catch it for it is quick, It will beckon you onward, always forward. This is your destiny.
