On The state level and on The naTional level our band continually walked oTT with Top honors. In The A. A. A. parade in WashingTon, D. C., in The Mummers' Parade, aT TooTball games, and aT many oTher evenTs ThroughouT The year The marching band Turned in Top perTormances under The leadership oT Drum Maior Algene Sensenbaugh. The concerT band perTormed Tor many service clubs and presented several con- cerTs. This year's band was honored by being inviTed To play aT The Maryland STaTe Teachers' Convention. IT ranked highesT in Maryland aT The UniversiTy oT Maryland Band Day. and perTormed Tor The WashingTon County Teachers' Workshop. North l-ligh band members capTured Top chairs in The All-County, All-STaTe, and All-EasTern Bands. The climax OT The year came on April 4 wiTh The annual spring concerT. Mr. James Dunlop, Trom Pennsylvania UniversiTy, was The guesT conducTor. Along with many oTher ouTsTanding numbers The band played SchuberT's UnTinished Symphony. This was The TirsT Time a school band in Washington CounTy has ever aTTempTed such a composition. The perTormance OT The band in This concerT and ThroughouT The year was a TribuTe To Mr. Fignar and To The hard work done by him and by The band members.
