SPORTS Sports at North Georgia College are mostly intramural. They range from softball to table tennis to football to tug- of-war. There ' re usually two sports a quarter and at the end of the year there is field day in which each company matches its brain and brawn against other companies.

THE FRESHMEN ' What do you mean you didn ' t have enough time? No, I ' m not energetic; I ' m too lazy to make two trips. Where do nine out of every ten freshmen spend Saturday afternoon? I wasn ' t asleep, sir. I was just memorizing with my eyes closed. The first fun we ' ve had all year and it will cost 15 and a week per snowball. The freshmen go through drastic changes their first year. Loafing civil- ians become hustling cadets; loud- mouths find their place in this ordered society; sporadic people become time- budgeters. The new system takes a great deal of getting-used-to and the first year is consumed mostly doing that. Rules and regulations control everything but breathing. These frogs spend most of their time in hard work, study, and polishing. This is the price a cadet must pay.

THE SOPHOMORES Some people even study here. These cadets are the real work- horses of the corp. They have both supervisory and work positions. Their greatest enjoyment is hearing the words sir or mister coming from the mouths of freshmen. Bucking for grades or for rank is common place, map reading is a new adventure and goofing off is still the favorite pastime. B yj III 4 ™ - , rf The thing I like most about this place is leaving it. No, I ' ve never won, but it ' s fun to try. ' ' Why don ' t we just follow the road. A passed out Postel is better than no Postel at all. 13
