Time Well pent Most of us look forward to summer as a long awaited vaca- tion, to do whatever we want whether it be a summer job or maybe absolutely nothing at all. But there are those few who are always striving to better their education and enrich themselves by taking courses in special academic areas. Two such people are April Shelton and Donna Atkins. These two girls passed up a great deal of their summer vacation to participate in such activities. April Shelton went to a Math and Science school over the summer. The school lasted from June 23 thru July 26. She went to classes from eight in the mom- ing until three in the afternoon. The day was divided into sessions on math in the morning and science in the afternoon. Her time was not completely tied up in doing school work. April said, I leamed a lot during those few weeks and had a great time doing it. It was wonderful, I loved it. This was Donna Atkins feelings about what she did over the summer. She attended Governor's school. She was there for six weeks, with a break after the first three. She studied drama, but also had courses in philosophy and psychology. Basics werenit taughtg however students did study the concepts behind basic learning. They studied only twentieth century concepts.
