Holiday Happiness The holiday season was a special one for two seniors, Melanie Scarborough and Phyllis Clemmer. Melanie was chosen to represent North Gaston in the Charlotte Carrousel Parade. Before the parade, the con- testants went through rehearsal, attended dances, interviews, supper at Reflections, a tour of U.N.C.C., and breakfast at Slug's. It was an opportunity to meet peopleg I was very excited. It helped me set a new goal for my life, said Melanie Scarborough. Phyllis was chosen by the student body as Christmas Queen. Being chosen by my peers was a special honor I'll always cherish, stated Phyllis Clemmer. Other contestants for Christmas Queen were Melanie Scarborough, Karen Anthony, Melissa Smith, Tina Revels, Meg Rankin, and Carmen Walters.
