International Interaction There are two foreign language clubs at North Gaston. These are the French and Spanish Clubs. The French Club is advised by Mrs. Jana Lefevers. She feels being an adviser gives her an opportunity to see the students use their French skills in outside activities including community service projectsfi The main requirement for being a member is to be enrolled in a French class. Tina Revels, vice- president of the club stated, I am a member of the French Club because of my interest in the French language and I enjoy using my abilities to help others. The Spanish Club has Sheridan Provost as an adviser. She really enjoys working with students who have a special interest in Spanish beyond the classroom. One must be enrolled in a Spanish class to be a member of this foreign language club. Christine Lineberger, vice-president of the Spanish French Club. Aside from both being foreign lanaguage clubs, the French and Spanish Clubs share many other similarities. Both organizations meet once a month. Their treasury is built from club dues. The two clubs worked closely together on community service projects. They took gifts and candy to the children in the hospital at Halloween. During Christmas, members of both clubs sang original Christ- mas carols to sick children at Gaston Memorial. The two clubs had plans for more service projects throughout the year. Sonda Easter, a member of the Spanish Club, cited . . the service projects that the Spanish Club does.. f' is a major reason why she be- came a member. This is true of most members of both organizations. French Club Officers.
