Teamwork Key to Future Success The softball team had a strong start with two wins over Ashbrook in nonconference play. The scores were 8-4 and 17-12 which proves that the lady cats were on their toes. The excitement and motivation to win were evidently there. It was a young team with only three returning seniors. Even though some quit during the season, there were still those who knew that they could win if they played as a single unit. The team won only four more games and their record shows that the enthu siasm of the team came in spurts and that it died down too early. Some players were asked to comment on the lack of spirit this year and third base player Samantha Locklear stated, At the first of the year we played together but then competition between players caused us not to play as a team. Daniele Anderson added, There was just not enough teamworkf' ' 'North Gaston girls have the talent, they just need to give in and work together. The future can be improved if this step is taken next year, stated Doris Cope.
