Baseball Team Swings for Improvement The baseball team had a disappointing year with a 6-ll record. They started out well, winning halfoftheir pre-season games. After beating Cherryvile the team fell into a seven game slump until they won against R.S. Central. The end of the season was better when they gained their composure and finished up strong. 'gAfter the first of the season a few starters got frustrated and quit. We had to use some sophomores off the bench and by the time they got situated, it was the end of the season,', stated Chuck Hill. The team was led by MVP Doug Ross. Mark Earle and Ross were the only seniors, so they had to pull more than their load in keep- ing the team up. However Jeff Hall stated, We only had a couple of seniors to leave so we are going to have almost all of our ex- perienced players back.
