pirit Motivator Over the summer the cheerleaders went to camp at Chapel Hill. They got superior blue ribbons every day, which was a total of 12 ribbons and received a spirit stick. The squad placed high enough to perfomi in the final competition, in which they received a su- perior ribbon. The squad has kept themselves busy throughout the year. During football season they made buttons for the player's parents and sponsored 50's day. They were in several junior varsity cheerleaders. On the Right Path The Cats had a good season in Cross Country finishing second in the conference. They only lost three times during the regular season. The top scorers consisted of Tim Hayes, Chuck Hill, and Eric Guthrie. The leaders made All-Conference including Eugene Clemmer were dedicated and ran con- sistantly all year. lf the whole team would have been more dedicated we could have won the conference, stated Tim Hayes. The Cats had the best team in six years when they last won the conference. They participated in the Wake Forest Invitational where they finished sixth out of 15, beating many 4-A teams. Seven runners went to the divisionals Tim Hayes, Chuck Hill, Eric Guthrie, Kenneth Costner, Jeff Lowery, and Todd Wooten. They finished 15th out of 28 teams.
