Various assembly p r o g r a m s throughout the school year provid- ed the student body with interest- ing entertainment. One ot the most impressive pro- grams presented was by a protes- sional group called the Spurrlows, who were commissioned to perform at various schools throughout our country. The theme, Music for Modern Americans, encompassed an admirable blending ot music and song. Almost as great in popu- larity was the Valkyries' revue of their first year's performances. This provided a spectacular show at dance and song by sixty vivaci- ous girls. Other notable assemblies in- cluded the French Club assembly and pre-election debate. Y. , orth hosts foreign Lynn Dowell's antics amuse her fellow students during the dramatization of a French play, Seniors Billy Welborn and Dick Pruitt entertain student body at a variety show.
