After the school is running smoothly, student teachers begin to arrive from Salem, Appalachian State Teachers College, and Wake Forest. Miss Johnston, a future English teacher, expresses her happiness at North by saying on her last day that she wishes it were her first and would last forever. All student teachers are readily accepted as part of the school's family. Along with student teachers, the seniors receive word that their classrings have arrived.
