The Neopolymaths were organized for students interested in reading and discussing well known literature. Olticers this year were: President, Sandy Coleman, Vice-President, Ed Stautter, and Secretary-Treasurer, Sandy Barnett. The advisor is Mr, Burgess. Some ot their activities this year were discussions on readings such as The Tempest by William Shakespeare, Com- munist Manifesto, and the Declaration ot Independence. The Debate Club was very busy this year raising money tor trips - then actually taking the trip, In December an invitational match was held at Forest Grove, All beginners in speech and debate were sent there for ex- perience. Then in March a tournament was held at Linheld. The teams were experienced and varsity debaters. Competi- tion was stitt. This year the district tournament was held at North Eugene.
