CHESS CLUB The Chess Club was organized to inspire knowledge of chess playing and to promote interest in the game. The club consists of fourteen members with Mr. Hall as faculty advisor. Raymond Ressler was elected as President, Mark Beymer as Vice-President, and Ken Johnson as Secretary-Treasurer. The members meet every other Thursday evening. The emphasis in these meetings has mainly been on skill, al though a tournament was held with South Eugene High School in which the score was tied. An informal activity of some of the members has been playing chess during the lunch hcur in the cafeteria. FRONT ROW: Ross Frye, Mike Strayer, Doug Appel.
