STUDENT BODY OFFICERS: Mary Hult, Dick Attebury, Mr. Hendrickson, Mike Hiatt, Rob Bennett, Mary Jo Delyea. TIONS The student body elections were held the third week in November. Five officers were elected: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. Two students were elected for each office from each homeroom. These names were passed to the faculty and then on to student council. There, they were eliminated to six students for each office. Primary elections were held in the homeroom to narrow the field, two for each office. Campaigning was held the following week. All the halls were gaily decorated with all sizes of colorful posters. The students wore name tags announcing their favorite candidates. On Wednesday an assembly was held to hear the speeches from each candidate. The speeches were all very well prepared showing that they had put a great deal of time and thought into therrf. Thursday was the day of the final elections. Everyone was in suspense until the winners were announced during fourth period. It was truly a close cam- paign which will not quickly be forgotten. The successful candidates were as follows: Mike Hiatt, President, Rob Bennett, Vice Presidentg Mary Jo Delyea, Secretaryg Richard Attebury, Treasurer, and Mary Hult, Historian. An assembly was held on Friday to install the proud new officers. It was quite an occasion, being the first installation of the Student Body Officers of North High. 23
