Mathematics More than mere numbers, Mathematics integrates imagination with facts and provides knowledge to fulfill present needs as well as background material which will be valuable in future years. North Edgecombe requires two courses in mathematics for graduation. College preparatory students learn Algebra, Plane and Solid Geometry, and Trigonometry. Mrs. Ann Price Science Physical science is taught at the ninth grade level. All sophomores must take biology, a requirement for gradua¬ tion. Chemistry and physics are offered as an elective for upperclassmen. Those who are in the college pre¬ paratory group usually elect both courses. 16

Agriculture Much more is done in agriculture than just attending class. Students help with the planting and care of plot from which all kinds of plants are sold in the spring. Furniture is refinished. Many things are repaired or built for farmers in the area. Mr. Robert Chambliss--Teacher 18
