“
Go gently through the years, but go with strength. Don't be ashamed of tears, of anger or of fears, For they're a part of you and you're alive. Go firmly through the night but go in peace. Know for yourself what's right, keep all your goals in sight, For they're a part of you and you're alive. Walk bravely through each day, and go in pride. Show that you know the way, in things you do and say, For they're a part of you and you're alive. Climb mountains while you may and sing your songs. Start living every day, It won't be long before you turn around, and wonder where life's gone. -Diane L. Rutledge Dedication Mrs. Katherine Riley You, Mrs. Riley, have been a source of guidance to us, the Class of 1977. You have done so much for us, that we would like to present our yearbook in dedication to you. You make school seem interesting. Not just something we have to do, but something we almost want to do. We're realizing that learning something and really understanding something can be very worthwhile to us. Thank you for the encouragement you've given us. You've seen things in us that we didn't even know we had. You've taught us more than Latin. You've taught us that nothing in life is impossible, not if we really want it. Your work with the Student Council has been remarkable. The entire student body has benefited by your patience, guidance and help. Your guidance has made the Council as effective as it is today. But, you have done much, much more than these things mentioned and that is why we, the Class of 1977, with love and gratitude, dedicate our AQUILO to you. 4121 wwwwmwwww The Senior Class Proudly Presents: AQUILO 1977 - North East, Pennsylvania North East High School t t' Y Are you sure this is how the Rockette's got started? Breon Superintendent B.S., Lock Haven State College M.Ed., Pennsylvania State University University of Pittsburgh Dear Seniors: Bob Hope has used Thanks For The Memories as his theme song for many years. During the Bicentennial Year, 1976, nostalgia never had better days. It became the in thing to recall the past. A tremendous interest in antiques has swept across our nation and even captured the imagination of young people. As you reflect upon your memories by fondly recalling your school days, may you, too, feel a certain gratitude as the Bob Hope theme song suggests. But even more important to you, let me recommend that you eagerly plan your futures while recalling the past. Good luck often comes to those who plan well and work diligently! Our hopes and aspirations go with you! Sincerely, Paul D. Breon Superintendent Dr. Donald G. Claypool Principal B.S., Indiana University of Pennsylvania M.Ed., University of Pittsburgh Ed.D., Nova University Dear Seniors: Your theme of Memories is a very appealing one for all of us-both for now and in the future. Already I am sure you share with me many class memoriesg some not so plea- sant, but most of a nature that brings a smile when remembered. I will have many memories of this class: we have shared quite a lot in our time together. I look forward to our fifth, tenth, fifteenth, and twentieth reunions with much anticipa- tion. We have come a long way, and you have the opportunity to build on this foun- dation for your lifetime aspirations and goals. Regardless of what you do, we will watch your progress with real pride. Sincerely, Donald G. Claypool, Ed.D. Principal Ang., Matthew F. Hamilton Assistant Principal B.S., California State College M.Ed., University of Pittsburgh Dear Seniors: Memories. I've been with you all your life--especially your school years. I represent all the different forces which shape your character and personality. There are many memories that influence your life-parents, church, a special teacher, friends, books, nature. The result of these influences is you. You have made them when planning the prom, taking a test, scoring a touchdown, jumping a hurdle, working with Student Council, the fellowship of school. No matter where you are, you will remember. As you go through high school, even after you graduate, they will be there-perhaps even bothersome at times. May the memories you have had in your young lives have been happy ones and may the future be happier. Congratulations and best wishes to each of you. May God bless you. Sincerely, M.F.
