Dist The Few riff Eally mar.. March 12 started out early for the District Rally participants. Mrs. Oswalt said for us to be at the school at 6:00 a.m. I don't know about you, but most kids days don't start that early in the morning. Even though we were sleepy, we were eager to get to NSU, take our tests, and get back home. NSU was a lot more fun than some of us expect- ed. Most of us hung out at a pizza parlor that was on the campus. On the way home, Mrs. Oswalt sang to us and some of us sang with her. The rest of told jokes like Becky and Kelli are doing. DeSoto Science Expo 88 On February 27, North DeSoto host- ed the DeSoto Science Expo '88 Kids and teenagers from all over DeSoto Parish showed their expertise and skill by having science projects. There were projects on mice, hair, vision, germs, you name it. There were students from Mr. Hollowell's Physic's class from mansfield High School who helped show Physics experiments. Live Air 1, a helicopter from Shumpert Hospital, landed on the front lawn which was a delight to the kids. When you walked through the front door of the school, you had to be carefuland try not to let a huge soap buble burst on you. A nurse from Doctor's Hospital was checking peoplels blood preasure and warning some about how high theirs was. The younger kids were really surprised when Sheri Warren from Chennal 12 showed up to talk to a few kids. Numerous awards and ribbons were given to those who did well with their projects. In the Senior division, Becky Steven won first place and Sharon Dickerson and Jacob won fourth place. Balta go Hoborable mention. Sharon's mood towards the end of the day.
