26 THE PARTY OF THE YEAR Jr-Sr Prom 88 JR. - SR. Prom - A definite MEM- ORY of a LIFETIME. This year the Juniors started planning for the prom with a new goal in mind-having the prom away from the school campus. After alot of hard work and time spent at car washes, dances, paying dues, etc. they did it. The prom would finally be away from school. The new loca- tion would be the Holidome in Shreve- port. The night finally came and everyone was excited! Girls rushed around try- ing to make everything just perfect while the guys tried to play it cool and be fashionably late. As the guests began arriving they couldn't believe their eyes, the room was beautiful! It had just the right touch of elegance to make everyone feel sophisticated. It took awhile for the dancing to really get going at first. Maybe because everyone was pigging out on the spectacular foods that were prepared for us or maybe they were still in shock that we were actually at the Holidome. Finally a few brave couples began slow dancing and then stayed on the floor for the next fast dance. That got everyone in the groove of things. lex- cept for the ones still pigging out!! Once the dancing started, it couldnlt be stopped, even the teachers and parents were boogying the night away with the students! Finally there is that small group that is still left after the crowd is gone, still dancing and having the time of their lives. The waiters are starting to clean up, their still dancing! Hey, save some of that energy for next year. wt if Our first annual prom King and Queen was Cedric Turner and Rolanda Hewitt The Marquee out in front of the Holidome speaks for itself All night everyone got in groups and did all the latest dances.
