Students were taught on an advanced high school level, so as to better prepare them for college work. Members of the journalism class learned the formats necessary for publi¬ cation of the KNIGHT NEWS. North Da¬ vidson is very proud of the English cur¬ riculum it offers the students. and Communicate in drench and Spanish The study of French is an integration of linquistic skills, cultural knowledge, and attitudes of understand¬ ing and appreciation of other people. The principal objective is communication. Students taking French are encouraged to study the language at least three years, and preferably four. French was offered to Freshmen for the first time this year. It is the basic intent of the Spanish department to teach oral communication based on sequential, useful, and everyday level situations with the aid of a new approach in the program LA FAMILLA FERNANDEZ, which consists of movies, tape recordings, filmstrips, and two texts developed by Dr. John Oiler in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Republic of Mexico. Through varied oral and written exercises the language is made apart of the student ' s experience. tlalii..
