a Viking Dedication We, the staff, dedicate the 1962 VIK- ING to Miss Ethel Masters. Through her undying devotion to duty, she has endeared herself not only to the many students of her classes but also to all those with whom she has come in contact. Through her endeavor to uphold the high scholastic ideals, around which North Dallas has grown, she has in- spired countless pupils to achieve academic success. While serving as sponsor for Na- tional Honor Society and Latin Club, she has given unselfishly of her time and ability. For these and for innumerable other reasons we proudly make this dedication, Summa Cum Laude. Miss Masters teaches her students the foundations of the Latin language.

Mr. James T. Whittlesey, Principal Mr. Whittlesey attended Emory College, Atlanta, Georgia; Universities of Chicago, Iowa, Texas, California, North Texas State College, East Texas State College, and he taught at Sam Houston State Teachers College. He also received a Master's Degree from S.M.U. in History. After serving as principal at Forest Avenue High School from 1944 to 1956 he has assumed the same duties at North Dallas since 1957.
