Brett, Henry Smith, Jack L' Hicks, Ueray Collins, Jasper Throckmorton, L.-Sedy Hudson, james Dilfey, Frank Wi11iams,Paul The Hi Y club of North Dallas has just drawn the curtain on an- other successful year. The current season has been one of unrivalled suc- cess: the work, the entertainment, and the character of the members have been unexcelled. The club opened its first term program under the capable leader- ship of Bert Harned as president. The half year's work progressed ex- tremely satisfactorily, much ground being covered, and the boys all bene- lited. This First half term's program included the Best Girl or Sweet- heart's Banquet, which was first introduced this year, and which seems destined to be an annual affair. Soon after this banquet, the first half term drew to a close and some of the boys graduated, among them, the president. The second season opened with officers and many new members in- stalled. An initiation was held Thursday, March 5, at which six new members were ordained and acquainted with the codes and standards of the Hi Y. On March 18, about Five members of the club were privileged to hear Dr. John R. Mott, General Secretary of the National Council of the Y. M. C. A. This was indeed a privilege, as Dr. Mott is a world famed man, personal friend of eight of the recent presidents, and a World trav- eller, having visited fifty-eight different foreign countries. As this article is written late in March, a summary of the entire sec- ond period is impossible, as may readily be seen. An excellent finish to a season so brilliantly begun is predicted, however. We have striven, one and all, to make the club one of the highest standards. The main purpose for these high standards is: first, to up- hold the ideals and creeds of the Hi Y and, second, to make the club a source of never ending, individual pride to each member.
