We, the SeniOTs do hereby leave to the Freshmen the hope that their road through high school will be easier than ours. We, the Seniors do hereby leave to the teachers, pleasant memories, sweet dreams, and the hope that their salaries will be raised. As we look back over the sands of time to 1943 we see the primer room of old North Cove School and the faces of many anxious but scared brats as they took their places. Of course they were all outstanding but the ten we remember most were: Lloyd Bates, Guy Blankenship, Freddy Brown, Ann Greene, Russell Harris, Roy Hollifield, Jr. , Carroll Jordan, Decky Swofford, Jimmy Wright, and Herman Williams. Time passed quickly as we sifted through the high first and second grades. In the third grade Peggy Biddix, Kay Bowman, Peggy Brown, Gale Willis, Clara McCall, Doris Edwards, and Doris Byrd slid into place beside us. As the sands of time passed through the timer we slowly made our way up to high school, the time we had waited for so long. Here Mrs. Glovier introduced us into this new change and saw us successfully through the year. Lloyd Bates was our class president. In the tenth grade Mr. Conley was our home room teacher and Lloyd was again elected president. In the eleventh grade we were happy to find the sands of time had brought back Henry Sewell Brown to guide us through the year. We elected a different person as president this year, Decky Swofford. The highlights of this year were selecting and purchasing our rings and planning and giving our banquet. In the twelfth grade we were again glad to have Mrs. Glovier as our guide and sponsor. This year Jimmy Wright was elected as president of the class. We are looking forward to our goal - graduation day with joy and yet with regret We know as the time passes through the timer we will be carried far away from our Alma Mater and will be separated from our cherished classmates. Class Historians: Clara McCall, Peggy Biddix, and Lloyd Bates.
