Class Histor We, as Seniors in the North Collins Central School, look back through the years to find we have overcome many obstacles. Few of us realized at that time, that many of our new acquaintances would be progressing with us through the twelve years of education ahead. Little did we know, that both joy and sadness were to be our lot, as it is in all human endeavor. During our first six years of schooling, we not only learned the basic rules of education, but also the value of responsibility and friendship. As we entered Junior High School, we were faced with the responsibility of voting for the following officers to guide us through the year: President, Ronald Geiger, Vice-President, David Aeschbackerg Secretary-Treasurer, Sally Ann Castiglia. Our Student Council representatives were Susan Warnes and Ralph Gruppo. With the help of Miss Potter and Miss Hubbard, we concluded a very successful 7th Grade year. Eighth Grade brought us near the threshold of High School. Our homeroom teachers for this year were Miss Korthals and Mr. Provenzo. Our officers were: President, Catherine Noecker, Vice-President, John Abramog Secretary-Treasurer, Catherine Bucco, and Pat Dillingham and Ralph Gruppo were Stu- dent Council representatives. At the close of our 8th Grade year we were ready for High School. Under the supervision of Mrs. Burke and Mr. Brooker, we started our high school careers in Sep- tember, 1955. Elected to office were: President, Judy Feltz, Vice-President, Bob Jeswaldg Secretary, Sam Markello, and Treasurer, Beatrice Canale. Student Council representatives were Sally Ann Castiglia and Ralph Gruppo. Our first real money making project was a Harvest Dance. Now we were well established on our way through High School. Under the able leadership of Larry Geiger and his staff, John Alessi, Vice-President, Pat Dilling- ham, Secretary, Elaine Fricano, Treasurer, Margaret Thill and Sam Markello as Student Council repre- sentatives, we continued on our pathway to learning. The outstanding events of that year were a square dance and a cupcake sale. Miss Van Dyke and Mr. Delaney supervised our activities successfully. With the assistance of Mr. Provenzo, our home- room teacher, John Alessi, President, Larry Geiger, Vice-President, Elaine Fricano, Secretary, and Sam Markello, Treasurer, we successfully accomplished a magazine sale, fudge and cupcake sale, Junior Jamboree, Junior Whirl, and a profitable light bulb sale. Those elected as our Student Council represent- atives were Margaret Thill and Ralph Gruppo. The outstanding event of the year was our prom, The Mardi Gras. Mary Ellen Schmitz was chosen as queen, Judy Feltz and Doris Simmons as her attend- ants. In the fall of '58, we reached the climax of our twelve years of study. This year with Mr. Valone as our advisor, we felt more responsibility in the elec- tion of our class officers: President, Larry Geiger, Vice-President, John Alessi, Secretary, Pat Dilling- ham, and Treasurer, Ralph Gruppo, Student Council representatives were Mary Ellen Schmitz and Sam Markello. The Senior Play, held December 5, 1958, entitled, Susan Steps Out, our Wfashington Trip, and our fudge and cupcake sales were all a part of our last year at North Collins Central. Now we all await one of the most significant events of our lives, which will be our stepping stone to a new world. Yes, this is graduation, which will mean the facing of new and exciting experiences on our own. Written by, Margaret Thill Mary Ellen Schmitz Pat Dillingham 22-
