Hum HmmmmmRm Social Studies is an important subject because it not only gives a record and study of the past events of mankind, but it also provides a heritage and a foundation so that we may build a better society. History is also a study of the philos- ophies of the great men of all time - philosophies concerning social structure, politics, economics, and religion. From our past errors we hope to learn the ways ofpeace in order to protect freedom and honor. Mr. William Ansberry

Any student interested in art or music is encour- aged by Mrs. Randall or Miss Shelton and Mr. Hissom. In the study of art or music, the students learn to express themselves through the structure of their artistic designs or through the stylistic playing of a difficult thematic passage. Art involves painting, sculpturing, and sketching, using either special colors, specific form, or a certain technique. In music, interpretation of a musical selection is of the utmost importance since only through expression can music, whether choral OI instrumental, maintain its magnitude and beauty. Thus, fine arts require not only basic skills and abilities but also extensive interpretation and finally construction of an art or music form.
