Mr. Raymond Bosse, 3 Cincinnati engineer, was asked to act as an advisor to the North College HillSchool Board in 1950 when the schools were being improved and renovated. He then filled an unexpired term as a member of the Board. In 1951, he was of- ficially appointed to serve on the Board of Education. He shOWed a very active interest in the building of Clovemook and Jose Becker Schools and in the renovation of the other existing build- ings. Mr. Besse represented the Board of Education at two High School Commencements during his term and served as Vice President of the Board in 1965. In recognition of his service to the school system, he was presented a life membership in the Ohio P.T.A. by Clovemook P.T.A. in May, 1966. On August 8, 1966, Mr. Bosse resigned his position on the Board after 15 years of service. Mr. Bosse enjoys playing golf and Operating his ham eradio set in his leisure time. He is very much interested in helping and encouraging young people as demonstrated by the fact that he served 15 years on the Board of Education although he has no children in our school system. Therefore, for his contributions to our school system, we, the students of North College Hill High School, dedicate this 196'? M to Mr. Raymond Bosse with deep appreciation. 67 7 IUUM Neatly CoMege; Haw men sow, , om rabuwwm ACADEMICS ................... 12 ORGANIZATIONS ................ 32 SPORTS ...................... 66 FEATU RES .................... 96 UNDERCLASS .................. 126 SENIORS ........... .......... 154 ADVERTISEMENTS ............... 186 Mumibzwg 061W and wwwmng.wmw. . . l r 3 I A 4 . It has been an especially interesting year with many pleasant and rewarding experiences. The Mrepresents many hours of hard work on the part of many people. They have given unselfishly of their time inorder to prepare for you a memory book for the future. This memory book should be considered a very personal treasure insofar as it portrays your life, as well as the lives of your classmates, during 1966-1967. In saying farewell to 1966-1967 we must let memories replace expec- tations. Guard this publication because it may serve in the far distant future as your best reference to many fond memories of school days. Respectfully, Joseph N. These are especially meanmgful to this year's Seniors, as it is a climax of their four years in North College Hill High School. This year, the M is especially meaningful to me as Well. I am cbmpleting my first four years of association with North College Hill, and it has been a very pleasant experience. This has been a good year with many memorable and worthwhile activities, much hard work. and, of course, a few disappointments. Many of this year's Seniors will be receiving futher education, while others will start directly into the work of their chosen careers. We feel sure that they will all find the North College Hill High School and its faculty has done well in preparing tomorrows leaders of busi- ness, industry and community. Respectfully, Edward W. The guidance office is open to any student having academic problems, scheduling conflicts, or various other difficulties. The counselors assist everyone, whether they be seventh graders just entering the world of Junior High School or Seniors looking forward to college or career. Mr. Ed Christensen Miss Kathleen Gieringer A very vital part oflife at North College Hill lies in communication. A11 school business, as well as that or organizations, must be co-ordinated through the office. With Lhe help of these two capable and efficient secretaries, students, as well as faculty, receive general information and the office assistance that is necessary to a smooIh-Iun- ning school. By studying the order of nature, we will be able to realize the complexity of the many factors in our surroundings. 5.. .K. Matlu 0W Qhesses Aprfoatiow Mathematics is a very important study in itself. and it is also of the utmost im- portance to most forms of science. Math is much more than addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It is as complex as the tasks it is called on to solve. However, like many things, the true importance of math lies in the indi- vidual's ability to apply it to the problems and situations met in actual life. This year, a member of our Math De- partment, Mrs. Lakonen, retired after thirteen years at NCH. All of us regret her leaving and wish her the best of luck in the future. From the earliest grades we are taught to speak and write in English. The foundations of grammar and spelling enable us to construct sentences. As progress continues. sentences become paragraphs, and paragraphs become compositions. With more acquired knowledge of the language, including an increasing vocabulary, we are able to write intelligent and accurate papers with good examples and supporting details. To be able to think and then to express oneself and understand others is the primary purpose of seeking a thorough understanding of the English language . gig Mrs. Elizabeth Mr. Louis Staub Miss Barbara Mr. Jack Mrs. Beverly Honchell Steelman Stevens Summers Instruction in foreign languages provides an understanding ofsome of the diverse ethnic groups which populate the earth. Studying the languages of others enables one to understand the ways in which these peo- ple live, and by understanding this, it is possible to comprehend motives and actions. The construction of foreign languages, with their many cases. tenses, and idioms, also reveals important factors about ethnic groups. and. H F . . . EWI-Jll MIIIHIILI IILH III,I,IHI Miss Elva Roche Mrs. Fedora Sikic Mr. Michael Vidas 25 26 The Practical Arts Department is indeed well named, as it strives to help students achieve skills that will be of great importance to them in their later lives F such skills as sew- ing, cooking, drafting, and shop working. These skills may lead to a career, or they may simply be employed in running a home. However they are used, these skills will undoubtedly be proven well worth while. Mr. Jack Rodgers Miss Karen Richards Mr . Duane Maidens Mr. Joe Logsdon Mrs. Lois Hilpolsteiner Any student interested in art or music is encour- aged by Mrs. Randall or Miss Shelton and Mr. Hissom. In the study of art or music, the students learn to express themselves through the structure of their artistic designs or through the stylistic playing of a difficult thematic passage. Art involves painting, sculpturing, and sketching, using either special colors, specific form, or a certain technique. In music, interpretation of a musical selection is of the utmost importance since only through expression can music, whether choral OI instrumental, maintain its magnitude and beauty. Thus, fine arts require not only basic skills and abilities but also extensive interpretation and finally construction of an art or music form. Mr. James Hissom Mrs. Catherine Miss Sherry Randall Shelton 27 Hum HmmmmmRm Social Studies is an important subject because it not only gives a record and study of the past events of mankind, but it also provides a heritage and a foundation so that we may build a better society. History is also a study of the philos- ophies of the great men of all time - philosophies concerning social structure, politics, economics, and religion. From our past errors we hope to learn the ways ofpeace in order to protect freedom and honor. Mr. William Ansberry 9pm Edumtaownams 9mm Pom PwdwtiueLwes The goal of special education classes is to train students in basic rather than intellectual subjects and thereby to enable them to become useful, productive members of society rather than neglected burdens. By educating these students in basic mathematics and English usage, they are able to work in industry, and take pride in their aceomplish- ments, and they may also many and become good parents. Thus. special education necessarily provides these students with a range of daily knowledge so that they may experience a full life.
