That is the word that is first, last, and loremost in the minds of all Seniors, For some, it is a time of happiness, but for many it is a time of regret. Regret that we must leave these 1Lhallowed halls of oldH. This school has seen us mature into adults from children. It has seen our victories and our defeats, our happiness and our sorrow, and our capabilities as well as our shortcomings. This year has seen many things which we will always remem- ber. For example, the Senior Class Banquet was held for the first time since 1958. We also had a Grub Day, and a great time building our homecoming float. Graduation is merely a word signifying the end of the be- ginning. We now embark upon that wonderful world of adult- hood and the many responsibilities that go with it. 43; i 1 1 1 1 '1 k; .7. The most outstanding was our first prize Homecoming float, HWooden Shoe Like to Winaj, won through our hard and diligent work. We held a paper drive in late fall that proved to be highly successful, giving us one of lhe qatlest treasuriei, to use for our forthcoming Junior year. We find the work strange and harder, but with the work we enjoy many new and exciting privileges. Now many clubs open their doors to us, and we anxiously join them putting sparkle and tun along the hard road that leads to graduation. We have enjoyed seeing our freshman sports teams pile up victories and seeing them prepare for varsity and reserve teams in the years to come. We will remember our freshnmn year as a year when we have begun to leave the footsteps of childhood, and enter the world of adults. We were tired and weary from a sleepless night, And that rolling in our stomachs didnut feel just right. But although tired, we were filled with glee, Because at last we had arrived in Washington, D. C. We were met by one man, smiling and bright, You could plainly see he had slept last night. We followed along as he led the way, To the bus that would take us the rest of the way. We were lucky, the forty-five of us, Because weid climbed aboard the number one bus. Then this man with his smiling face, Climbed on the bus and took his place. He pulled out the microphone at his side and said, tTll introduce thyself before we ride. My name is Charlie Boswell so you can probably see Why all my friends call me Charlie . . 3, So for three days we boardeti the number one bus And because of our Charlie we saw all the ttmustsfa But soon we had to leave Washington, D. C. But took with us a fond memory Of a bus driver, a guide, a jokester, a singer, a friend. Weill never forget you, Charlie, on this you can depend. Best of luck to you, Charlie, and remember, if you will, Your forty-five friends from North College Hill . . ft 5x i '7 outside waiting for the rest of nour gang,u Charlie was al- ways smiling. 3: rag. The Senior trip started on a Wednesday evening and one which those attending will never forget Despite a little CU trouble with the heater and some train sickness, we arrived in Washington, D. The dinner on the way home left something to be desired, The line up of NCH suspects. but at least the heater worked! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves on a trip they will never forget. A rain-free night plus cool temperatures added to the solemn occasion. Pomp and Circumstance began and so did the steady stream of archbearers followed by the graduates to be. The in- vocation pledge of allegiance: Star Spangled Banner, and speeches all passed quickly. Finally the time came for the presentation of diplomas-some- thing everyone there had worked hard for for twelve years. Then that, too, was over. The closing events took place and then the recessional began. Caps and gowns were handed in, and report cards passed out.
