Members may do anything from selling candy in zero degree football weather to selling ads in funeral homes. That is why the Ilium Staff is so diverse, and is able to produce the book that portrays one year in a very busy high school. This year, under the very gapable direction of Miss Bales and Sandy Baarendse, the yearbook is slowly taking shape. All the pictures must be taken, captions written, and clever layouts organized. To finance the book, Phyllis Humphreys has led many candy marches t0 the football field and also to the always empty candy machines. Ads are also sold to many of the merchants in North College Hill 50 that the students may buy the book at a reasonable price. Finally it is all assembled and sent to the printers where the professional touches are added. Then it is returned to you, the students. COLERAIN Losing to traditional rival Colerain in the seasorfs opener, the Trojans led 14-12 until the final minutes of the game-bowing to a determined cardinal drive as the game ended. BROOKVILLE The Trojans' 'tfirst ever out of state football game produced a smashing 27-7 win over the Greyhounds. Fine defensive line play, and scores by Turner, Chappel, and Coleman, highlighted the game for hundreds of N.C.H. fans who followed the team to Indiana. l20 AIKEN Victory number one of the season was at the expense of public high school rival from College Hill. Cox and Coleman each scored for the Trojans in 21 bruising defensive battle. GREENHILLS Scored on by MtVAIL. rival Green- hills on the second play of the game, the Trojans bat- tled back from behind with Coleman's two touchdowns to tie the game 14-14, With 17 seconds remaining, Turner hit Thompson with the game winning score, on a 12 yard pass playt WYOMING Playing for the M.V.I.L, lead, the Trojans threw a scare into the mighty Cowboys, unde- feated in three seasons. Tied 8-8 at the half, the Trojans eventually succumbed to the much larger Wyoming squad, but only after a knockdown, dmg-out battle. LOCKLAND Bouncing back from the Wyoming loss, the Trojans smashed Lockiand, with Coleman scoring 4 touchdowns. The hapless Panthers, entering this game previously unbeaten, scored in the last sec- onds of the game against Trojan reserves. Butlert I28 1963-64 Varsity Team The Trojan team started off their season with a height handicap, but, nevertheless, rebounded back to give the fans some exciting games. This was due to fast, co-ordinated playing by the whole team and that stick to it attitude of coach, Mr. Jim French. Besides the three wins, including a very close game with N.C.Hfs new rival, Aiken, there were many games where the scoring matched or led the opposing team until the last few min- utes, or was lost in an overtime. The thing that impressed the fans most was the team's willingness to try and their go get 'em,' attitude. This was evident also when N.C.H. came in second in the M.V.I.L Sportsmanship contest. Curt Thompson, a Junior, was elected Most Valuable Player, and the other team members received recognition for their good work. Reserve Squad RESULTS N.C.H. OPP. N.C.H3 OPP. It was a completely joint project between the band, choral, and dramatics department which when finished, proved to be :1 great success Many hours went into special scenery and dancing effects, while singers went from scene to scene trying to remember their cues and the band constantly reviewed their music. All worked, but also had many hours of fun that they will never forget. 170 Simple Little System Candids F rom Bells,9 Drop That Name l7l I72 'Pit Band CAST Sue . Gwynne . The cermeony began with the Pledge of Allegiance, Senior Chorus, Mr. Bosse, Dr. Bryuer and the tassels were turned. Diplomas were presented and the Seniors knew that it was only a matter of moments before all would be over and the last .arch lowered. It all began and ended so quickly that few realized that with the final rapid clearing of the field and a last farewell, it was all over. Mauricio Soto receives his diploma.
