H J nun!!! .x BOARD OF EDUCATIONeEugene Gettel, William Hockney, H. B. Bergman, Ralph Jentz, Ray B055e, James Brynex. The Board of Education is responsible for our North College Hill school system; the members must discuss and initiate policies that stimulate school growth. They can make these policies only after studying all new educational theories, philosophies, and methods. A major portion of their time is devoted to procuring trained teachers, modem equip- ment and materials, and improved facilities. Before the Board of Education can invest in any of these, the members must analyze and consider the entire school budget. Yet, each September we return to better quarters and new materials. This year we received new 8th grade social studies books and new literature books for all grades; health, German, and American government were added to the curriculum. A new suite of offices was built for the administrative personnel. Too, the guidance services were in- creased With the employment of an additional guidance counselor. As a result of the members' careful planning for such things, our school system continues to advance in size and standards. 20 DR. JAMES R. BRYNER Ball State Teachers College, BS.
