UORTH CENTRAL BIBLE COLLEGE C1 910 ELLIUTAVE.SO.,MINNEAPOLIS,MINNESOTA55404 0 332-3491 Dear Graduate: Paul makes a statement to the Corinthians and the Philippians which so aptly describes my feelings that I make bold to use them concerning you. I readily recognize that the Apostle used this expression for those who were his converts, nevertheless I wish to borrow his words. He wrote: Ye are our irejoicingi 2 Corinthians 1:14 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye. . . ? This is the way I feel about you. Your victories and successes are my joy. YOur struggles and problems are my concerns. These years which you have spent at NORTH CENTRAL have been very important ones . Every aspect of your life has been influenced. The contributions you make to society. . .the kind of a family you raise. . . the way in which you cope with both the victories and defeats that make up this life of ours. . .the manner in which you do God's will. . . these and many other extremely vital matters will depend on what you make of the training which you have received. This we share in common - I, too, am leaving NORTH CENTRAL this year. Only I will be gone before you. By graduation day you will have become better acquainted with my successor, Rev. Cyril E. Homer. I know you will have learned to love, respect, and appreciate President Homer greatly in the time which he will have served the college before your graduation. He and I and the faculty wish you God's very best. Let excellence, not just acceptability, characterize your life. Holding Christ preeminent, making Him first, doing all things as unto Him can be nothing but a synonym for excellence. Go in His strength and He will grant you the success that He alone can give. Sincerely yours , President GRC:jk

MSELmMWW Proposed Chapel-Auditorium Complex North Central Bible College had its humble origin 40 years ago. In 1930 the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle was the location where 31 students gathered to learn more of the Word of God. Due to an increasing enrollment, larger facilities were needed. In 1937 the Asbury Methodist Hospital, located at 910 Elliot Ave., was purchased. With the expanded facilities now at their disposal, the administration saw fit to set up a Business Education Dept. In the spring of 1957, the name North Central Bible Institute was officially changed to North Cen- tral Bible College. Rev. F.J. Lindquist was at the helm when North Central first began and continued as presi- dent until he retired in 1961. Dr. C. Raymond Carlson was named as his successor. Dr. Carl- son led us onward, and in 1969, under his direction, we acquired the adjacent property pre- viously known as Asbury Methodist Hospital and Tourtellotte Memorial Home. In the summer of 1969, Dr. Carlson was elected by the General Council to the position of Assistant General Supt. The Board of Regents met, and through God's guidance, proceeded to find a replacement in the person of Rev. Cyril Homer. President Homer is presently bear- ing the responsibilities of his office as well as taking an active interest in the weifare of the students - just as the two men preceding him have done so well.
