North Central Bible Institute is dedicated to one purpose: to train young people in the fundamentals of the Word of God, equiping them to step out and to bring the reality of Christ and His more abundant life to a needy world. A recent survey shows that a high percentage of graduates entered new fields and built new churches. The school has trained 3,900 young people coming from all around the world. To you who have caught the vision of lost and dying humanity and through faith have stepped out for God; to you who struggle amid heat and cold, blessings and trials, darkness and light; to you who have consecrated your life to God for the purpose of winning others into the kingdom; to you who have left earthly inheritance behind to build your inheritance in heaven; to you who have gone to the four-comers of the world to present Christ to those in the darkness of sin; to you pioneer ministers and missionaries of N.C.B.I. we gratefully dedicate the 1956 ARCHIVE. ngx. $41 ' 3 V. grams. . . w l . um Administrafim And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers? As we think of the thou- sands of souls in the remote and hid- den areas of the world who know not Christ and His saving grace, our minds repeat over and over iiHow shall they hear without a preacher? Many a heathen has no doubt thought iiNo man careth for my soul? Our missionary groups meet each Thursday. Each band meets for the express purpose of becoming better acquainted with the customs and needs of the various countries. The ultimate purpose in having this knowledge before us is to bring us to a place of deeper realization of our part in this great work. We be- come more aware of our responsibil- ity in praying for the missionaries and their work. Each year the students pledge to- ward missionary efforts. This yeafs goal is $9,000. In 1955 N.C.B.I. was first among the Assemblies of God schools in per capita giving and second in total giving. As we see the iifields white unto harvesti, and hear the cry of the heathen that iino man careth for my 3011?, we are inspired to yield our all to the Lord and answer His call to do our part that they too might know our Christ. 75 76 First Row: I. May the L0sz richest blessings rest upon them as they go on through Bible School. W0 Man 6mm 302' My 5011 t We count our Missionary Convention of this year as a great success. Not only were some called to dedicate their lives as missionaries in a foreign field but all were moved to give sacrificially of their time and money. Our goal of this year was $1500 and we passed that by approximately $30 making it a grand total of $1530. For this we praise the Lord. This money is to go to help our Bible schools in foreign lands. We may not all be called to go but we can all give of our money and our prayers to help these people who are bound by the chains of darkness and sinking in the miry clay. As the cry liNo man careth for my sour, reaches our ears we are moved to do our part in helping them out of this miry clay and from the clutch of the devil. Our speakers, coming to us as world evangelists and missionaries, from the lands of Africa, India, and South America, helped to make our conven- tion a great success. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit they brought us heart searching messages that left deep impressions upon our lives of the needs of these fields today. 89 Rev. PSALM 96:1 Music Dtpdttmmt The Music Education course is a four year Normal course which prepares a student for public school teaching. Our affiliation with the MaCPhail Col- lege of Music enables our graduates to earn a Bachelor of Music Degree with just one additional year of study at the MacPhail School. This course was inaugurated in 1946 and we are'happy to know that every alum- nus who holds this degree has a teaching position in a public school or Bible School in various parts of the country: Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Washing- ton, Arizona, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The public school music teacher has a great influence on the social life of the chil- dren, and is usually looked up to in the community, thus becoming an example to the children. This presents a fruitful field of service for a consecrated young person who does not feel called to full time Christian service. k The music course also plays a part in training musicians who plan to do full time Christian service in the field of music. Calls are constantly coming to us for church music directors and youth pastors. Another course available in the Music Department is the Applied Music course. A preparation for teaching private lessons in voice, piano, and other instruments. Out of the greater alumni, several are doing private teaching. Others have been able to transfer credits to State Normal Schools without forfeiting any credits and have completed their course at a normal school. We have a staff of nine music teachers giving private lessons, in voice, piano, organ, marimba, woodwind, and brass. 106 ; a A V 3 Miss Esther Selness ; Director of Music Department , Rev. l. B. Toastmaster at the banquet, which was held in the Calhoun Beach Hotel, was Keith Wise, PreSident of the Junior Class. We had a tasty steak dinner and much fine entertainment after which our speaker of the evening was introduced -Rev. Hilton Griswold.
