North Central Bible Institute was founded in 1930 by the North Central District Council of the. Assemblies of God, with classes conducted in the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle for the first seven years of the school. In 1937 the North Central District purchased, renovated, and equipped the five story, fireproof, downtown building which the Institute now occupies. Rev. F. J. Lindquist was the first president of the school and has held that position since its founding. We are grateful to God for the spiritual leadership of the Board of Directors, the Faculty, and many other minister- ing brethren who have given with great spiritual vision their united efforts toward this part of the program'of God. Of the thousand graduates, hundreds are engaged as pastors, evangel- ists and Sunday School workers. In addition, thirty-four of the graduates are now serving the Lord in the far-flung mission fields. North Central Bible Institute, affiliated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God; embraces as a basic standard for its teaching the fundamental doctrines of our movement. Primarily they number four: Sal- vation through the blood of Jesus Christ, Baptism in the Holy Spirit accord- to New Testament teaching, Divine Healing, and the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. An evangelical institution, N CBI stresses continually the positive message of the Gospel. The history of our school as well as the history of our move- ment stand as constant reminders to the faculty and student body that it is iinot by might nor by power but by- my spirit saith the Lord of hosts? We give the glory to God for what the school is and has achieved in the past and we pray that the future shall reveal even greater achievements.
