Assemblies of God, with classes conducted in the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle for the first seven years of the school. In 1937 the North Central District purchased, renovated, and equipped the five story, fireproof, downtown building which the Institute now occupies. Rev. F. J. Lindquist was the first president of the school and has held that position since its founding. We are grateful to God for the spiritual leadership of the Board of Directors, the Faculty, and many other minister- ing brethren who have given with great spiritual vision their united efforts toward this part of the program'of God. Of the thousand graduates, hundreds are engaged as pastors, evangel- ists and Sunday School workers. In addition, thirty-four of the graduates are now serving the Lord in the far-flung mission fields. North Central Bible Institute, affiliated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God; embraces as a basic standard for its teaching the fundamental doctrines of our movement. Primarily they number four: Sal- vation through the blood of Jesus Christ, Baptism in the Holy Spirit accord- to New Testament teaching, Divine Healing, and the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. An evangelical institution, N CBI stresses continually the positive message of the Gospel. The history of our school as well as the history of our move- ment stand as constant reminders to the faculty and student body that it is iinot by might nor by power but by- my spirit saith the Lord of hosts? We give the glory to God for what the school is and has achieved in the past and we pray that the future shall reveal even greater achievements. gadicah'on -To REV. DUANE V. The President and F ounder of our school, Rev. Lind- quist, has imparted these vital truths to us by his spiritual teaching and life. F oresight and a desire to provide a place for the training of young pe0ple brought about the school which we now enjoy. Years of labor have borne fruit in the lives of young men and women working in the harvest field for God. Rev. He signed the letter with his own hand, and then added the significant statement, iiIf any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathama, Maranatha? The last two words need translation. iiAnathamaT is in the Greek and means iiaccursedf, The word iiMaranathaf is in the Aramaic tongue, and means, TOur Lord Comethf, Now that almost twenty centuries have sped by, how much more sig- nificant are these words to the Christian. iiOur Lord Cometh.,i All around us the signs of the times confirm this statement. The dispensation of grace is drawing to an end and world affairs are reaching their final great crisis. But, in the darkness of world affairs, there is a bright and shining hope. iiMaranathaT, Our Lord Cometh. Praise God! REV. IVAN O. Never to be forgotten are his words of advice and counsel and his example of obedience to the convictions of his heart. Rev. Those early believers, dogged by persecution, harrassed on every hand, found consolation in the blessed word, iiMaranathaf, His coming would end their trials and their sorrows would be turned to holy joy. His reign would overthrow the evil powers that opposed them. If this was so in those early days of the Christian Church, how much more today! The end of the age is upon us, the night is far spent, the day of His return is at hand! iiMaranathaf our Lbrd Cometh, is 0dr watchword. This is our hope amid the maddening maze of things happening around us. The day will soon break-the trumpet be heard. The conflict will grow more fierce as we near the consummation. Do you see ominous signs about? Lift up your head! Redemption is drawing near! Soon the wondrous rapture will take place, and God,s ready saints will be snatched away to His Pre- sence. Heralds of the King, Prepare His Way! Go forth to benighted lands, and to a world shaking in fear and apprehension, with the tidings of His Coming. Herald the news worldwide! Blow the trumpet; awake the hearts; arouse the sleeper, till readiness is the mark upon every waiting soul. iiMaranatheW our Lord Cometh, peal out the watchword! All the saved shall see His face, ransomed through His matchless grace; And heill find me preaching Jesus when He comes!
