A fun-filled day at Natatorium Park was a big event. The jack rabbit, the tunnel of love, and the carousel, which arrived in 1909, were popular rides. In the re- freshment line, a nickel would buy orangeade or soda pop while a dime would get you an ice cream cone. Street cars would get you where you wanted to go for a nickel . Night life ended at midnight when the owl trolley made the last round of the evening . If you missed the owl, it was a long walk home. No matter what the time of day, harassing trolley conductors seemed to be a favorite pastime of the teen group.

In the Whirl of the 70 ' s Gone is Nat Park, but the memory lingers on with the newly-restored carousel . Al- though there seems to be no central gathering spot today, the completion of the Riverfront Park is expected to provide fun and entertainment for all . Foosball, pins, and frisbees offer relief from the hassles encountered at school . Disaster movies like Earthquake and The Towering Inferno headline theater marquees . Mixers, Time Square, and enjoying the view from Cliff Park are also part of the ' 70s.
