John P. Rodkey, Principal At a meeting sometime ago, the speaker said that we erroneously think of a generation as twenty years. She said that today, five years constitute a generation! As we enter the decade of the 70 ' s, will we see really two generations, or will this be even accelerated? We speak loosely about the Generation Gap , about the lack of communication with parents, about the double standards of society, and about all of the inequities in our country. We mustn ' t forget that it is easy to criticize, but few people give enough thought and effort to suggest something better! Every person must make a commitment about his attitudes toward his country, his family, his place of employment, and about organizations which he considers important to him. Many persons freak out of society. Mostly, however, North Central students have been proud to be a part of worthwhile ventures and to establish lofty goals for themselves. My question to each of us at North Central would say What have you committed yourself to be and to do during the decade of the 70 ' s? The life blood of America is awa iting your response. 20
