IMPORTANT AND INTERESTING PEOPLE appeared on North Central ' s stage each Friday, which was traditionally the day for convocations. During Student Council elections Indiana ' s Gov- ernor, Matthew E. Welsh (left), discussed the necessity for student government in high school. Other feature entertainment, including folk sing- ers, the choral singers ' ' Messiah Christmas program, and seminar speakers from Indiana University, added a final touch to each school week. HER MAJESTY, QUEEN! SUSIE ROGERS beams with joy as she is crowned North Cen- tral ' s first Fall Festival queen by Chuck Peters, football captain. Charlie Schaab, chairman, an- nounced the winner chosen from five senior candidates: Susie, Lou Riddell, Pam Fortune, Jackie Malless, and Nancy Westfall. GAYLY DECORATED FESTIVAL FLOATS and queen candidates riding in convertibles were features of North Central ' s first homecoming game and Fall Festival. Georgette Kelley, Tina Hibbs, Martha Deckman, and Ann Kable are collaborators on an entry called We ' ll Roast Them which joined Percy the Giant Killer and We ' ll Grind Them Up at half-time for the grand parade. 10
