DENNIS CAMFIELD AND GARY LAYTON NDCC cadets perform a daily ceremony that is so much a part of this building, students find it difficult to believe that next year the same flag lowering ceremony will be taking place in an entirely different location.

LATE BUSES ARE SCHEDULED to accommodate the many pupils who participate in after school extra- curricular clubs and activities. Chang- ing the activity period from its regular time during the school day was an emergency measure for this year only, and Centralites look forward to resum- ing their usual program in the new and less crowded school. WARM SPRING AND AUTUMN days helped ease over-crowded pass- ing conditions in the halls and Student Center, because pupils could then take advantage of good iveather to use the sidewalks bordering the lawn, as a quick route between wings. NORTH CENTRAL PUPILS MADE the best of croivded conditions and learned to concentrate on lessons while uncomfortably trying to write in an auditorium study hall. Cafeterias also were utilized for study periods. AN OVERFLOW OF PUPILS IN THE CAFE- teria means that nearly 100 teens have to eat lunch in the Student Center, but the typical noontime atmosphere of friendly chatter and informality prevails in the new area during all four lunch periods.

IMPORTANT AND INTERESTING PEOPLE appeared on North Central ' s stage each Friday, which was traditionally the day for convocations. During Student Council elections Indiana ' s Gov- ernor, Matthew E. Welsh (left), discussed the necessity for student government in high school. Other feature entertainment, including folk sing- ers, the choral singers ' ' Messiah Christmas program, and seminar speakers from Indiana University, added a final touch to each school week. (Indianapolis News Photo) AS JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES FILE past Mrs. Kubik, photographer of under- classmen, Marty Davis assists her in this traditional event. Bruce Browning gongs out the get-ready tune for Steve Clafjey, who follows another tradition, that of broadcasting morning announcements over the public address system.
