Building a feeling of togetherness was a gradual process at North Central but by the end of three years a great deal had been accomplished toward unifying students and faculty in a sense of oneness The feeling had to be built up by many things. It was a matter of sharing experiences both in and out of school, studying and reciting together in classes, plan- ning projects and dances, and rehearsing for plays and musical programs. Strenuous election campaigns built up interest in the three class organizations. Club meetings during home- room helped North Centralites to form new friendships with others who shared their hobbies. After-school ac- tivities gave science students the feeling of belonging to an unofiicial club as they conducted research experi- ments on their own time and exchanged wise cracks with fellow workers. Other groups met in the library to share information as they prepared for term papers and book reports. Boys in the Athletic Department developed a strong team spirit as they practiced nightly on the field or in the gym for competition with other schools. When suc- cessful they sometimes sponstaneously acclaimed one of their members but the spirit of Htogethernessv was what really won the game. On Weekends, North Centralites planned social events together, worked with classmates on special as- signments, or took field trips. Pupils study together in a self-contained scicnre lab amidst i1ttr.1etive plant life exhibits and animals donated by students, Sharing our dcu y what ve!
