Jack Bary is now Principal of N. C He took the position following Mr 1's retirement ludy's twin sister, Janet teaches physical education in the new physical education building back of the gym. This et's recipe for remaining trim and attractive Just as Judy was leaving the telephone rang I hurried to answer it cognized the voice as that of Joyce Smith of the Smith gc Smith Beauty Salon noted for IES egg shampoo, located rmiles east of Ramsey. It is ovmed and managed by her and Betty Smith She had called to tell me that she had to set my hair that everung As I drove toward the Smith 8a Smith Salon I passed the Byrne Worm Farm owned and ted by Donald and Terry Byrne They have to supply the Erb Carrier Pigeon Corporation with a good number of fat, little, loveable worms each year Marvin uses lus carrier pigeons to keep in touch with his dear friends Herb lickler and Marvin Howerton, stationed on Mars to talk the small, green Martians out of invading our world. Their g saucers are a familiar sight to us earth people but President Emily, yes, I said Emily says there is no danger rasion as the Martians know better than to try while he is President. Even Mrs Askren is proud of his English now Upon arriving at the Beauty Salon, I saw Patsy Flock fnow Mrs. Harry K Jwith her twin girls leaving for their arm near New Salisbury. Patsy and Harry have made a fortune raising mink. Joyce and Betty welcomed me and Ice got ready to fix my hair, Betty flipped on their T. V set. Featured was a Paris Fashion Show An announcer lst introduced an outstanding guest who was there for the show who we recognized as David Kuerzi, our ambassa J Paris. David introduced the lady guest of honor for the night who was none other than our Madamoiselle Marlene Queen of the Fashion Designers of the World Her fashions for the night consisted of one model and a small girl a dress alike mother and daughter fashion show The model was Veda Eddleman Cnow Mrs Darrell Burnettj er small daughter, Theresa Ann One of the commercials was How to Look Loveher in One Hour s Time by Throwbridge s Beauty Secret Robert stepped on the stage and said, Ladies would you like to have lovelier n one hour s time? If so, Scrub it As we watched the show we thought of other classmates who were abroad Royalty, now a famous opera singer, makes regular appearances in the Opera Houses in Rome Carole Davis trs nightly in the Wooten Be Bop Dance Hall in Spain. The dance hall is owned and managed by Jim Wooten ling of Bop Music. Another classmate, Paul Adkins now an Amiy General, is stationed in Japan. A small curly haired daughter had recentlyi come to live with the Fishers to add to their joy and happines. Continuing homeward, I thought of my friends, Janet Green and Janet Mosier, who now live in Florida with their husbands, Junior Davis and Willie Smith. Ralph Sims se-1 to like Florida too and we can't blame him as he is assistant director of Marineland. Nearing Depauw, I passed Devil's Hairpin Race track owned by Larry Wetzel. 'I'he top male drivers in any race' held at the Devil's Hairpin are Lonnie Smith and Charlie Davis, the hot-rodders of Ramsey. Joyce Barnickle and Jan' Smith take all honors in any Women's Day Race by scaring the other drivers half to death by their driving before the. even starts. Joyce, you really should have improved your driving since the old school days. Connie Kuerzi, assistau manager of the track, is kept busy counting the fortune they have made since the nack opened in 1960. Could we i nibute this success to Larry's stinginess? Buck Thomas owns a large 500 acre farm near Ramsey, which is used by the FFA boys in school as a place for ! learning all about farming, judging, laboratory work, etc. Ardis Barrow does the secretarial work and Marcus Barksl dale is general handyman around the place. Jerry Eckart is now a minister and Brenda Thompson a Sunday school tel er. Paul Cunningham and James Askren went to Purdue University to major in farming and are now making good mn! supervising the feeding of pigs. Jerry Fessel is head scientist at the missile research plant at Charlestown. Ellen Kennedy and Darlene Clunie v' in the laboratory of the research plant. Ever so often they hop into Jerry's private missile, zoom through the hemo-w sphere, and come to an explosive stop back in front of the missile plant. Speaking of missiles, Rita Briscoe, who started as a stewardess for Northwest Airlines, is now top test pilot for The Aircraft Missile Corporation in Washingttl' D. C. , where Ann Nolot has become famous as a radar technician. James Yocum is head statistician and accounta. for the same company. After months of taking pictures, selling the book, writing copies, and sticking pictures, we have attained the goal set for us by being chosen as members of the Echo Staff. With the last deadline met, our fears we had in the beginning seem trivial - it wasu't difficult at all. We have learned so much from our blunders as well as our triumphs. We are proud of the end product, and for many years we shall look back to those days and nights of labor with reminiscent smiles. Our success - if we have succeeded - is not ours entirely. Co-operation on the part of every stu- dent has helped us form this yearbook. We are also grateful to the businessmen and other loyal support- ers of North Central who were interested enough to place advertisements in the yearbook. Without their support, we would not have been able to publish it. To the people who always seemed to be around when we needed advice, will never receive enough credit for what they have contributed, we want to say to all of you Thanks! It has been a privilege for us to serve you by editing the 1958 yearbook. Now our job is finished and we are tuming it over to you. We truly hope that you will cherish it for many years.
