When school began in late August it seemed to many upperclassmen that there sure were a lot of new faces around. The class of '81 entered high school big in size and big in ambition. Darwin Krill took on the challenge as their class advisor and their major money making project turned out to be a car wash which had to be postponed because of rain. This class proved to be go-getters as they joined clubs and sports and also showed they could excel in academics. Craig Conrad brought home the only superior from the state science fair, after he and another freshman Connie Spencer were rated superior in the district contest. Jamie Grimm, Amy Kwader and Roy Hylander also brought home the only district and state honors on the scholastic team, Jamie in General Science, Amy in English and Roy in Spanish.
