Routine Is 'hgptoedn With Extras in 978 Seven periods a day. five days a week. NCHS students learned more than reading. writing, and arithmetic. Efforts were made to use different methods of learning. including dinners in American Problems class, games of monopoly in bookkeeping and quiz bowl in history f all which added a little spice to the daily routine. Vocational school brought skills of auto mechanics. Cosmetology. w gg. emu,wow:n..,.W..-...--c horticulture and many others. This year more than 30 NCHS students put up with long bus rides in return for skills to get them right into thejob market. Skills were also taught at the home school in addition to general and college prep courses. Journalism class ut out a bi-monthly newspaper. several iiistory classes used video tapes of Roots and Holocaust and guest speakers came from the sheriff's Wii 1 1 , r . ft.. Sunnyside School. the University of Toledo and other areas f- all changing the pace of the usual class. Field trips to the Art Museum, Book Country. the Court House in Bryan, Siebenaler's Equipment.
