Seniors Score High With Magazine Sales Members of the class of '78 came back to school in August and some were ready for graduation already. However, there were to be several months of ups and downs before that wonderful day, May 28, l978. Even before the doors officially opened, the seniors were at school. They came for their sitting for senior pictures. Soon after. proofs arrived and the matter of paying for them wouldn't be far behind. It seemed that the year hadjust begun, and everyone had barely enough time to get used to the old routine and a new principal and already it was time to start selling magazines. With their goals set high, many seniors made enough money to pay for their senior trip. The next matter was where to go on the trip. Florida was decided upon as the destination and the trip would be made by bus - all 24 hours of it each way. Seniors started earning honors early in the year. Laura Houser was named 3rd runner-up in the Miss Ohio FHA contest. In the fall it was time for the school play and of course Tim Moore could be counted on for a hilarious erformance alon P Y S with several other characters in the class of '78, There were even some devilish pranks from Julie Stephens. Seniors did well academically in the fall, with nearly 30 of them making the honor roll. Some even managed all A's. The new band uniforms arrived and for once this wasn't something the last class or the next class got, but was really something new for the class of '78. l. Shelley Williams and Cindy QBearj Bistline perform Matchmaker in Senior Variety Show. 2. With the first day of school comes the task of driving the yellow school buses all over the northwest corner of Williams County. On PALS day, some drivers even got to pick up and drop off parents on their route. Field trips and athletic events meant extra hours for some drivers. Fog days brought problems not only for the bus drivers but also for the cafeteria personnel. Decisions to close or not brought hassles with what to do with the food, preparation of which had to be started for some foods very early in the morning. Special meals were also served by the staff of the cafeteria at Thanksgiving and Christmas and due to a mixup, things got more interesting as someone forgot to dismiss the seniors early for their special meal. Teacher aids could be counted on to help duplicate materials and could also be seen bailing water when the floods hit the kindergarten room in the spring.
