With the first day of school comes the task of driving the yellow school buses all over the northwest corner of Williams County. On PALS day, some drivers even got to pick up and drop off parents on their route. Field trips and athletic events meant extra hours for some drivers. Fog days brought problems not only for the bus drivers but also for the cafeteria personnel. Decisions to close or not brought hassles with what to do with the food, preparation of which had to be started for some foods very early in the morning. Special meals were also served by the staff of the cafeteria at Thanksgiving and Christmas and due to a mixup, things got more interesting as someone forgot to dismiss the seniors early for their special meal. Teacher aids could be counted on to help duplicate materials and could also be seen bailing water when the floods hit the kindergarten room in the spring.
