Whirlwind entertained with some unusual visual effects. 6. Presenting a large number of faster songs, the band's singers kept the interest of even those who preferred the role of spectator to participant. 7. Scott Keesecker and his date took to the floor for this slow number. 8. Severaljoined in the fun of the beat. 9. DeAnna Frack, Deb Geiser and their partners made the most of this song. lO. Shawnna Nixon and her partner dance among the tinsel streamers. ll. Dave Nixon. Karen Williams, Marcia Lambright and Todd Sniadecki chose to sit one out. Juniors Light Up Seniors' Lives With Prom You Light Up My Life was the theme for the 1978 Junior-Senior Prom held May l3. The festivities began with a banquet in the Kunkle gym. The dance featured the music - and some added visual effects including the use of dry ice and even a minor explosion - of Whirlwind After the dance a change of clothes was called for and it was time to see the movie The Sting in the high school auditorium - preceded by a couple of cartoons. Finishing off the evening. or actually morning. was open bowling at Bryan Lanes until nearly 6 a.m. Many hours were spent by thejuniors turning the school cafeteria into a glittering tinsel and blue ballroom for the evening. As in past years the Junior High prom was timed for the night before and the themes coordinated to add to the atmosphere for the banquet.
