Members of Lori's court were Angie Eckley. Senior Attendant: Jill Deetz. Junior Attendant: Gwen Whitis. Sophomore Attendant: and Joie Coy. Freshman Attendant. It was a successful evening for NC.. as they defeated Fremont. Indiana. 64-57 for a thrilling homecoming victory. A new Queen. an exciting victory. and lots of happiness made the 1977-78 Homecoming memorable. Student Council sponsored the dance. Evergreen and followed their theme with decorations of a snow-covered mural and a live I4- foot Christmas tree. Music was presented by N ickelodeon. 24

Varsity Makes Sectional Finals N.C.'s varsity basketball season record was I0-I2 this year. including tournaments. The probable highlight of the season was the battle against Stryker in sectional finals. when Stryker was ahead at the half by only 2 points. Another bright spot - for a while - was the Antwerp game at the end of the regular season where the scorewas 47-47 and the Archers broke the tie at the sound of the buzzer tor was it after?J Perhaps the low point of the season was the loss to Hilltop in a game which saw the Cadets gain the lead after being tied at the half and then go on to win by 3. Named to honorable mention on the BBC team were Steve Ely and Todd Martin. both of whom were in the top ten in scoring for the league. Steve Ely got the Eagle Award, Reserve team record pointed to a successful year with I6 wins and 4 losses. Highlight of the season may well have been the Stryker games. the first of which showed N.C, on top 47-45. One of the most memorable games would probably be the one with Ottawa Hills where thejv's really smoked them by 40 points.
