Science Dominates Honors This Year Academic greatness is rewarded in many areas throughout the year. Eleven high school students competed in the District Science Fair after receiving high excellent or superior ratings at N.C. Jeff Gunn, Connie Spencer and Craig Conrad were rated superior at district and Craig also received a superior'in state. Jeff Gunn participated in the Science and Engineering Day at Patrick Henry and through top honors there went on to compete in Anaheim. California and as a result of his showing there will compete in an international event in Albu uerque, New Mexico this summer. Other awards presented in the awards program included re-presentation of FHA and FFA awards which had been first given out at their combined banquet. Club awards were presented by advisors and those students who represented certain academic areas in the scholastic testing program also received awards. As a result of that testing program, three freshmen placed in the district and the state: Jamie Grimm, Amy Kwader and Roy Hylander. Two art students. Janet Mick and Bill Staniski received honors from displays at the Defiance College High School Art Competition. Top senior awards went to Kathy Scott and David St. John. Those who made the honor roll 3 times were also honored at the Scholastic Banquet held the first weekend in May. -.silk 1 -- i' ' r .A 'N z A s
